Millennium Society

As our Academy of ORL-HNS becomes more engaged in EBM research and sociopolitical activities, it is imperative that we support this process beyond our yearly dues. The Millennium Society is an excellent vehicle to achieve that purpose. - C. Ron Cannon, MD; AAO-HNS/F President, 2005-06

Join the Millennium Society today! The Millennium Society, established by the Board of Directors, is a group of Academy members who believe in the Foundation's mission and generously provide financial support to help us achieve the Foundation's initiatives. Membership in the Society is achieved by either an annual gift of at least $1,000, or cumulative gifts throughout the year that equal $1,000 (or, $250 for residents and young physicians). Beginning in 2008, the program year runs January 1 through December 31.

How will my gifts be recognized?

  • Your name will be displayed on the Donor Wall of Honor or the Convention Center Network during the Annual Meeting.
  • You'll have access to a special concierge lounge at the meeting.
  • Naming opportunities (for certain gift levels).
  • VIP seating at the Annual Meeting Opening Ceremony.
  • Special acknowledgements in the Journal, Bulletin, and on the Academy website.
  • A Millennium Society certificate.

Millennium Society Members

There are five categories of membership in the Millennium Society:

  • Member
  • Young Physician Member
  • Sustaining Member
  • Patron
  • Life Member

Member status in the Millennium Society is attained with an annual contribution of $1,000.

The category of Young Physician Member is open to physicians still in training and up to five years out. An annual contribution of $250 is required.

A Sustaining Member is one who makes an annual contribution of $5,000.

Membership as a Patron of the Millennium Society is based on a $10,000 annual contribution.

A Life Member is one who makes a contribution of $25,000.

As with all charitable gifts to the Foundation, your contribution will advance the art, science, and ethical practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Contributions may be directed to specific programs such as research, education, international and humanitarian outreach, history and archives, or you can select to use them where needed most.

Some ideas for giving include:

  • $1,000 through the President's Appeal (designated to the program of your choice).
  • $10,000 in humanitarian aid to significantly fund our efforts in Latin America, Asia and other underserved areas.
  • An irrevocable, $25,000 bequest of stock or life insurance.

Making a generous donation of $1,000 or more enrolls you in the Society.
