CME Transcript Notification Service

Annual Transcript Mailing
We keep computerized records of documented AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ earned only through CME activities sponsored by the AAO-HNSF. These activities include programs listed on this website and those offered at our Annual Meeting.

CME self reporting and tracking is available through AcademyU™, although these credits will not appear on your annual transcript.

Early each year we send CME program participants a transcript of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ earned in the preceding calendar year. This transcript is automatically mailed each January.  If you have not received yours by March 1, please contact the Department of Education. Extra current or past official transcripts: $35 each.

Please complete a Request for CME Transcripts form and return it to the Department of Education. If you require additional information regarding transcripts, please contact the Department of Education.

Other Credit Information

AMA PRA Category 2 credit
Programs that qualify for AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™ are not listed on transcripts.  These credits can be self reported and tracked using AcademyU™ although these credits will not appear on your transcript.

Teacher/Presenter Credits
At this time, the AAO-HNSF does not provide credits for presenters.  The presenter may claim these credits through the American Medical Association (AMA) Direct Credit.

COSM CME
Prior to 2005, Official Annual Transcripts also included credits earned through participation in the Combined Otolarynological Spring Meetings (COSM).  To recieve credit information for more recent COSM conferences, please contact the individual COSM societies.

Non-physicians
Although we do offer a number of educational opportunities for non-physicians, the AAO-HNSF does not provide CME credit to non-physicians.  We are happy to provide a certificate of participation to any non-physician who participates in an activity that we accredit for physicians.  This certificate can then be given to your accrediting organization who will often provide the CME credits.

CME Credit Requirements
The AAO-HNS has no CME requirement for membership.  The AAO-HNSF also does not trace CME requirements for the different state licensing organizations.  You may find the resources provided by The Federation of State Medical Boards useful in researching this question.
